DEEP CREEK FISHING CLUB NEWSLETTER 2010

Sunset.2010
Hello, fellow adventurers

Warm greetings from Deep Creek Fishing Club. We are happy to report another successful year filled with great fishing, fine feasting and loads of fun.

This year marks Steve’s 30th anniversary as both a salt water Captain and an Alaskan fishing guide- he is still finding exciting new spots and undiscovered runs, still sharing his love of the vast and changing landscape of the “The Last Frontier” with every guest.

Our mission is to provide you with the wondrous sense and adventure of the Alaskan sprit while enjoying great fishing, deluxe accommodations and sincere hospitality.

Take a walk with us through the salt water highlights of the season and stay tuned for new and  upcoming developments.  We are updating our website, you can visit our blog and we have video action to view on You.Tube.

Sincerely,
Steve & Vivian Moe
Deep Creek Fishing Club, Inc.

BIGGEST BARN-DOOR HALIBUT OF THE SEASON
250# Halibut caught by George Osumi
Not only did George catch the biggest halibut of the season, he landed a few over a hundred during the week. Well done, George!

LUCKY ANGLER CATCHES TROPHY HALIBUT ON HIS FIRST TRIP
Charrier.10

Talk about a lucky fisherman! On his first ever fishing

trip for halibut, Richard Charrier managed to land this 234# monster. He and his party of 12 will be returning again next year to reel in the big ones.

THE STREETERS LANDS ANOTHER TROPHY HALIBUT
207# Halibut caught by Dave Streeter

Dave & Marcia Streeter caught this huge halibut during ther stay. This echoes one of            Dave’s previous trips to the lodge – that time his son Matthew landed a                                         trophy halibut on their last day. That monster weighed in at 311#.

In fact, you can read more about it in one of our previous newsletters.

PHIL WIDLANSKI LANDS TROPHY LING COD
Phil Widlanski

Phil Widlanski, pictured right, landed this huge trophy ling cod that weighed  63#. He’d been fishing for black bass, got one on – as well as the ling cod. He hooked two fish at once, on light tackle! It was a blast. (Mike Amerson, deckhand, pictured on left)

SBARBARO LANDS TROPHY HALIBUT
Sbararo.10

Phil Sbarbaro landed this monster on his first halibut trip. It was quite the fight to bring it on board the Shooter  – it had to be shot 5 times before it was safe to do so.

A sincere thank you to all our guests who make these fishing adventures possible
and to our staff who put in the work behind the scenes to get it done.
We appreciate you all.
